IIM Trichy RTI Data Reveals MBA Placements for 2023-25 Batch

In a recent reply to an RTI query (no. IIMTP/R/E/25/00016), IIM Trichy has disclosed comprehensive placement data for its MBA (PGPM and PGPM-HR) batch of 2023–2025, shedding light on placement outcomes, salary ranges, and unplaced student figures.

Final Selection Criteria

The following parameters and the corresponding weights will be used to arrive at the composite scores of the candidates to prepare the final merit list for admissions:

1. CAT Percentile: 47 percent weightage 
2. Written Analysis Test: 5 percent weightage 
3. Personal Interview: 20 percent weightage

The total strength of the PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management) 2023–25 batch stands at 384 students. As of 14th May 2025, a significant number of students from both streams remained unplaced. According to the official reply, 40 students from PGPM and 19 students from PGPM-HR had not yet secured final placement offers despite completing their academic requirements.

CTC-Wise Salary Distribution
A detailed salary bracket analysis was provided in the response, highlighting the diverse placement outcomes for the batch. The data reveals that IIM Trichy has maintained its reputation for high-paying job offers, particularly in the PGPM stream.

  • A total of 96 PGPM students received offers with a CTC above ₹20 LPA, compared to 5 students in PGPM-HR.
  • In the next bracket—₹18–20 LPA44 PGPM and 7 PGPM-HR students were placed.
  • For the ₹16–18 LPA range, 68 PGPM and 5 PGPM-HR candidates were hired.
  • The ₹14–16 LPA segment included 54 PGPM and 1 PGPM-HR students.
  • Further, 20 PGPM and 9 PGPM-HR students received CTCs between ₹12–14 LPA.
  • Only 16 PGPM students received offers between ₹10–12 LPA.

Interestingly, no student in either program received a CTC below ₹10 LPA, indicating a strong lower threshold for final placements.

Lowest CTC and Its Recipients
The lowest CTC offered during the final placements stood at ₹11 LPA for PGPM and ₹12.5 LPA for PGPM-HR. Only 2 PGPM students and 3 PGPM-HR students were reported to have received this lowest package.

Implications and Observations
While the top placement figures reflect IIM Trichy’s consistent performance in attracting high-paying recruiters, the presence of 59 unplaced students is noteworthy and may prompt discussions around placement support and industry demand trends.

Moreover, the CTC data suggests that the majority of students secured packages above ₹14 LPA, reinforcing IIM Trichy’s growing stature among the second-generation IIMs.

Conclusion
This RTI reply paints a transparent picture of IIM Trichy’s placement landscape for the 2023–25 batch. With over 280 students placed in highly competitive salary brackets, the institute continues to deliver on its promise of quality management education and career outcomes. However, the institution may need to further address the placement support structure to reduce the number of unplaced students in future batches.
